Policy for Marketing Attorney Speaking Engagements
Effective January 1, 2004
No-Fee
I will continue to consider invitations from non-profit professional organizations, so long as the meeting or seminar is for educational, not-for-profit purposes. Vendor sponsorship, ownership or related issues may not affect my materials, topics or presentation content. Out-of-pocket costs will require reimbursement.
Fee
In some instances, I will consider presentations and seminars for a fee, if the seminar or organization is for-profit. However, the topic, materials and presentation may not be compromised for product or speaker placements by non-objective parties. I am often offered speaking slots in exchange for my endorsing or promoting a for-profit seminar and webinar. This is strictly prohibited.
I will continue to provide in-house lectures, CLE programs, retreats and seminars for law firms. Please contact me for topics, pricing and availability.

THE MARKETING ATTORNEY SPEAKING CIRCUIT
Do you need a speaker for an upcoming attorney marketing training or retreat? Do you need programming for your organization? Are you tired of hearing the same messages from the same people? Or vendor pitches presented as "objective education"? You need to speak to Micah Buchdahl, the Marketing Attorney, and president of HTMLawyers. These sessions are guaranteed to educate and entertain, with a unique style and approach.
A sampling of recent presentations to firms and organizations:
• Attorney Sales & Marketing Training Session - As a two-day session, a 90-minute lunch & learn, or as part of a firm retreat, Micah presents real life and realistic approaches to a consultative sales model that can help increase both selling success and marketing buy-in for better business development. The program includes handouts, worksheets and follow-up exercises.
• BRANDING YOUR LAW FIRM - Teach the concepts and approaches to create a firm identity, or improve your current efforts. Figure out how to build a brand for yourself, your practice and your firm.
• Marrying Marketing and Technology - Yes, they do work together. Improving the relationship between departments, products, budgets and use can provide a major boost to firm efficiency and marketing success.
• Ethics in Marketing - Whether online or traditional, recent changes to the ABA Model Rules, and mixed interpretations by state bar opinions make it a fun and challenging topic to address. This CLE program is for ethics credit and is offered as in-house CLE to law firms and legal departments.
• Building A Marketing Foundation – Whether from the ground up, or imploding what you have. If you are a solo with a dollar in your pocket or a megafirm blowing millions on ineffective business development, it is time to take a step back before moving forward. Micah discusses the elements of biz-dev planning, budgeting and hiring.
• Marrying of Marketing and Technology-Maximizing Tools for Law Firm Business Development -- How effective is your law firm in maximizing the benefits that can be gained from using technology for marketing purposes? This session looks at some of today's technologies being used by law firm marketers-web sites, extranets, intranets, contact management software, content management, e-mail, virtual courtrooms, litigation and discovery tools, online marketing-and the best ways to combine them with traditional business development techniques and strategies such as branding, media buys, budgeting, staffing and selling of professional services. Included in this fast-paced and entertaining session is a review of important ethical considerations surrounding these marketing efforts, and the infamous InternetMarketingAttorney.Com "Nifty Fifty" revue.
